Meeting Date and Location
Call to Order: The Thursday, September 10th FRMC Member Meeting was held at Romano’s Italian Restaurant in Littleton starting at 6:38pm. Attendance was strong with 35 members. Romano’s had suggested Tom Ferguson attempt to collect RSVPs for future meetings so the restaurant can be sure to dedicate proper staffing to our dining needs, and the members responded well with early RSVPs numbering 30.

Old Business
We have 44 club memberships for 2026. We finished last year with 49 memberships. There seemed to be a lot of interest for new memberships at the recent car shows listed below, but, so far, no one has followed through with applications.
We are in the middle of summer and that means lots of events open for participation. On Thursday, August 20th FRMC visited the Cussler Museum of Classic Cars in Arvada. Fourteen members enjoyed the extensive collection including over 100 significant automobiles ranging from 1906 to 1965. After touring the museum, nine members met for a highly reviewed lunch down the street at the Rib Cage. The following weekend, one of the longest running and popular car shows of the summer, the Tri-Lakes Cruisers Benefit Show in Monument was held on August 30th with 207 cars registered per event organizer Stephen Wilson. Chrissy and Kenny Weathers reported on the biggest ever Sturgis Mustang Rally that was held September 1st through the 6th with some 900 cars participating. The Weathers had several family members bring cars and win awards at the show plus our Club’s most serious racers, Keith Johnson and Robert Miller ran their Shelbys in several events. The annual Shelby American Collection Car Show and Party was held on September 5th in Boulder and Tom Ferguson, John McNurney, Dean and Denise Gianarkis, Tom Rupprecht, Dave Marsh, and John and Nancy Rullo were all there in support.
Other events that occurred after the monthly meeting so we don’t have reports were the September 12th Stang Auto Tech BBQ and Car Show, the Avenue Church 2026 Auto Show, and the September 13th Classic Car Show at the Billy Birch Pub & Yard, and Early Ford V-8 All Ford Day Show.

New Business
The list directly below includes events not yet scheduled but shows possible club outings to discuss and schedule for 2026 and 2027. As always, your officers encourage FRMC members to step-up and do the research to get any of these on our schedule.

Tour the Colorado Model Railroad Museum in Greeley
Visit the Rambler Ranch in Elizabeth (possibly in the winter)
Schedule some Fall Cruises for our Mustangs (see below)
Our Annual FRMC Chili Fest is scheduled for September 26th at the home of Dan and Cathy Ryhal near beautiful Pine, Colorado (details below). So far, we have 34 members participating with several chilis, side dishes, deserts and condiments being pledged. There is room for more, so let Tom Ferguson know if you plan on coming. It’s always a good time.
As we move into the Fall driving season, Mike Thomas and John and Paul Revesz are researching possible car cruises for the club. Mike’s would most likely occur on a weekend, while the Revesz brothers would arrange something for a weekday.
The next FRMC meeting will be held Thursday, October 15th at Romano’s Italian Restaurant at 6:30pm. We’re meeting the third Thursday of the month because of the late date for September’s Chili Fest. Also, this will probably be our last Thursday meeting for a while as we expect to switch to our winter Saturday morning meetings in November. A number of members have been asking about the Club Holiday Party. It has been listed below and on the website calendar for several months, so yes, on December 5th we are going to the popular Club at Rolling Hills again for a holiday brunch and gift exchange. Tom Ferguson will be meeting to finalize the arrangements with the event coordinator for The Club at Rolling Hills in early October. If anyone would like to accompany him, filling in for the sadly departed Art Apple, let Tom know.

Standing Events: It’s been covered before, but The Latest Scoop magazine is under new ownership and some nice upgrades include articles with photos, and car events across Arizona, Colorado, Kansas, Nebraska, New Mexico and Oklahoma sorted into state specific pages which makes The Scoop more user friendly. This subscription will get you an email newsletter with a link to The Latest Scoop issue plus a separate biweekly listing of Colorado car events and the digital SHIFT Colorado magazine every 3 months. How can anyone beat a free deal? I highly recommend getting subscribed because the info in The Latest Scoop will be much more up to date than what I have been listing in the past under Standing Events.

Treasurer's Report
The Club had $1,734.33 in the Vectra Bank checking account as of the meeting date. The Club’s annual filing with the Secretary of State was completed in late August for $25. Tom Ferguson is now collecting 2026 FRMC dues ($50/family). Checks should be made out to FRMC and mailed to Tom at 525 Fox Hunt Circle, Highlands Ranch, CO 80126. Newer members who pay membership dues for 2026 after September 1st are exempt from 2027 dues. Tom is holding the name tags for members Jim and Susan Johnston, Daryl Borsheim and Patty Ferguson and Al and Claire DeLauro. Please come to a future event to get your tags, guys!
MCA Report
Front Range Mustang Club had a banner month as a regional representative of the Mustang Club of America as we had two articles published in the MCA’s national monthly magazine, Mustang Times. The first, which included the cover photo, was a comparison of the 2008 Shelby GT-C versus the 1966 Shelby G350 written by Dean Gianarkis and the second was a report on this year’s local National Mustang Day Cruise featuring cars from FRMC, the Early Mustang Club of Colorado, and the Denver Mustang Club. Both articles featured lots of great photos and some FRMC members were pictured enjoying lunch in Conifer after the cruise.
CCCC Report:
None of FRMC’s representatives to the Collector Car Council of Colorado were able to attend the September meeting so there is nothing to report.
President's Report
The latest on Wendell Salas is that he is scheduled for hip surgery on November 10th. We will all be pulling for you to be healthy enough for the surgery, Wendell, and hope to see you at December’s Holiday Party.
