Old Business
The Club had a final count of 49 paid family memberships for 2025. So far, 25 memberships have been renewed for 2026.
FRMC member, Stephen Wilson, is also a member of SAAC Colorado and Tri-Lakes Cruisers, and he organized a multi-club weekday trip for a guided tour of the Shelby American Collection in Boulder on Veteran’s Day, November 11th. FRMC had 17 members and guests attending which appeared to be the biggest contingent present for a well-attended event. Thanks to Stephen for taking a leadership role on this. It’s great to have volunteers step forward!

New Business
Summarizing the activities at the Holiday Party, the event officially started with a moment of silence for our long-time member Art Apple who passed away following surgery in November. Following the moment of silence, several members spoke of their experiences over the years with Art and how much his presence will be missed in the club going forward. As of now, Bonnie, Art’s spouse, is planning a celebration of his life on January 26th with the time and place to follow once she passes the information to Art’s good friends, Ron and Ann Fox. Art’s funeral will be held January 29th at Mt. Sinai Cemetary in Los Angeles where his parents reside. There is additional information on Art and a place to leave written tributes on the neptunesociety.com website.
One piece of business the club needed to attend to at the meeting was the appointment of a new vice-president to replace Gary Spencer who decided to step down after several years of service in that role. Travis Reeder and Chrissy Weathers both graciously volunteered for the position, and, in the spirit of diversification, Chrissy was chosen. Thanks to both for stepping up. Volunteers are what make the club run!
After everyone had finished the great food provided by The Club at Rolling Hills, Larry Standiford distributed the 289 Club Pins for 2025 and noted it was the highest distribution since the award was initiated. That’s a great comment on our member participation during the year.
Next came the gift exchange which is always an entertaining activity and, as usual, featured a few items that changed hands several times in a good natured way. As part of our Holiday Party, FRMC encourages member donations to a designated charity. Should members wish to make a holiday donation to the 501-c, Perpetual Learning Communities that Paul and Jennifer Revesz have started for developmentally challenged young adults, you can direct donations to www.perpetuallearningcc.com. The club has been supporting this project since Paul and Jennifer started it and their physical facility in Littleton has a wall plaque acknowledging FRMC’s generosity. During the party, the club auctioned off a bottle of rare, premium tequila (Montagave Blanco Heritage) provided by club friends Dan Ryhal and Cathy Wagner with the winning $200 bid made by Jim and Nancy Yank going to Perpetual Learning. Thanks so much for your generosity, guys.
The party concluded with holiday wishes being exchanged and some preliminary discussion of changing venues for next year. Tom asked for member suggestions by early 2026 so we can discuss and pursue the change on a timely basis. In case, nothing develops, Tom has reserved a 2026 date with The Club at Rolling Hills for Saturday, December 5th.
As winter sets in, FRMC is always looking for activities to keep us busy when our Mustangs are in the barn. At our November meeting, the club decided to conduct a group visit to the National Museum of World War II Aviation in Colorado Springs on Saturday, January 24th. Times and driving group info will be determined at the January club meeting, but Tom sent out a summary of what is available to see at the museum in an email on November 7th, and thanks to Jim Yank for getting the details that were included in the email. Members who have previously been to the museum are very high on it and plan to go back on the 24th.
Wendell Salas mentioned that National Mustang Day is April 17th and the club should be thinking about how to celebrate the 62nd Birthday of the Mustang. He will be contacting our sister MCA Club, the Early Mustang Club of Colorado, to see if a joint activity can be arranged. Wendell will also order some National Mustang Day decals for the Mustang Owner’s Museum fundraiser conducted by MCA and National Parts Depot. In addition, the club has received an inquiry from Chris Vopat, one of the organizers of the nationally known Mustang Week which will be held in the Houston area this year over April 14-18. Chris is encouraging FRMC members to participate with a link to details noted below in events of interest.
